Lakefront Sculpture Exhibit

Welcome to the Ninth Annual Lakefront Sculpture Exhibit. This project was originally conceived to enrich the neighborhood by publicly exhibiting the works of Chicago area sculptors on the streets of Lincoln Park. Today, we are showing more than double the original number of pieces in two wards, encompassing many neighborhoods and providing a year-round opportunity to view these large-scale sculptures.
The 20 artists represented in this year’s show will take you on a journey of discovery. Your senses will be stimulated with colors, shapes and fantastic voyages. You will be called to consider man’s integration with nature and to explore nature. Will a “Lake Street Lovely” take a “Leap of Faith”? Visit all of the exceptional works in this exhibit to decide for yourself.
Making all of this possible is the work of our sponsors. The Lakefront Sculpture Exhibit, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, is funded entirely by private donations. Sponsors include neighborhood organizations, chambers of commerce, individual residents and cultural institutions. Their dedication to improving the community is the heart of this program.
All of the works on display are returned to the artists at the completion of the show and are available for purchase. We would be more than happy to connect you with any artists whose work you particularly enjoy. Remember, if these works are too large for your use, these artists also work in other media and sizes and would be happy to work with you. The large scale pieces are also available for your consideration.
Public art is often thought of as a permanent installation. This temporary exhibit offers a larger opportunity for our viewing pleasure and for the artists to showcase their creativity and we are all the better because of it. The Lakefront Sculpture Exhibit is a statement of civic, corporate and community pride. We support and value the arts. Enjoy these individual works of grand scale and enjoy the show in its entirety. Our hope is that you will discover and enjoy all of the pieces on display throughout the coming seasons.
