John Adduci makes his first appearance with LSE this year. As a native Chicagoan,
Lake Michigan (and other bodies of water) often serve as inspiration. While
working with various metals, he manages to create forms that seem to float.
The bit of craziness apparent in Johns work adds just the right amount
of levity to pieces that are made with materials that reflect his devotion to
form and fabrication. The link between this 3-dimensional piece and the connotation
of silliness may lie in Johns own interpretation of pirates in a faraway
land.
John Adduci is on the faculty at the School of the Art Institute and his work is in many public collections. He has worked as a professional artist for over 20 years.
